The 2012 contract to extract Tuff (Toba) is viable for 20 years and renewable for 20 more years. Tuff is a stone with a similar color to Basalt and is used in construction as a base layer for roads, buildings, and landfills, among others, although Tuff is not not recommended for projects requiring high resistance rock. According to the study completed by the Engineer of Mines and Geology, there are 14 stone outcrops in the left area of the farm (70 hectares – 8 outcrops) with 16,999,110 cubic yards, and on the right side of the property (330HAS - 6 outcrops) with 24,714,380 cubic yards, with a total estimated volume of 41,713,490 cubic yards. The farm has 5 access points to Lake Gatun, plus a recent appraisal of the farm (not including commercial value of stones) for $21.6mm.
