Según el artículo 81 de la ley 6 de 2005, reformado por la ley 34 de 9 de noviembre de 2005, las mejoras cuyo permiso de construcción se expida a partir del 1 de septiembre de 2006 quedan exoneradas del pago del impuesto de inmuebles, con base en las siguientes tablas:
